NCI (National Coastwatch Institution) Exmouth has said that its volunteers will be on watch on Christmas Day and the festive period.
It comes after Exmouth RNLI said that it would not attend the annual Christmas Day swim in Exmouth, but would still remain on call as normal.
A spokesperson for NCI Exmouth said: "Volunteer watchkeepers will be on duty on Christmas morning and will be keeping watchful eyes over those on the beach and throughout the festive period.
"Our trained watchkeepers will be updating Her Majesty's Coastguard on any safety issues arising from any of the festive swims from our lookout on Exmouth seafront."
What is NCI Exmouth?
NCI Exmouth is a charity run by volunteers. It works with HM Coastguard and the RNLI by keeping watch over the Exe estuary and Exmouth beach every day of the year from Coastwatch House on the Esplanade.
