Exmouth Community College has a new headteacher.

Before joining the academy, Tom Inman was the headteacher of Gordano School, a large secondary school in Portishead near Bristol, for five years.

He succeeds Andrew Davis, who led the college for six years.

Mr Inman said: "I am delighted to have been appointed as the new headteacher of Exmouth Community College.

"I was born and raised in Devon, with grandparents who lived in Exmouth and I really look forward to reconnecting with the community.

"The recent, and ongoing, significant improvements to the college site will allow us to provide an exciting and very broad educational experience in inspiring, state of the art facilities.

"But more than this, it is evident that there is a very strong sense of community at ECC.

"Through us all working together as staff, families and governors, and pulling together as one community, we can continue the great work to build a college that caters so brilliantly for its community and prepares our young people for their future."

The college will be holding a number of events over the next couple of months to allow parents and carers to meet the new headteacher in person.

The school's current Ofsted rating as of 2020 is 'requires improvement'.
