The Turf Hotel has been sold and has a new owner after more than three decades.
The Grade II listed pub had been run by Clive and Ginny Redfern, and their sons Jim and Ollie, since 1990. Mr and Mrs Redfern will now retire.
The new owner of the fully licensed waterside freehouse, which is located between Exeter Canal and the River Exe, is a man named Joe Hammond.
Mr Hammond reportedly has "a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality venues in the region" and is looking to "build on what the Redferns have so successfully created".
Matt Bettesworth of Bettesworths estate agency said: "We are delighted for the Redferns to have found a buyer for the Turf.
"It has become a huge part of their life and after 33 years it was extremely important to them that we found the 'right' buyer.
"The Turf will continue to be the special place that it is and is now in safe hands for hopefully many more decades.
"We would like to wish the new owner all the very best with the Turf and to Clive and Ginny and very happy and well deserved retirement!"
The Turf cannot be reached by car. It is a two-storey detached building, with slate hung exterior elevations originally designed by James Green in 1823.
It has a bar, kitchen, dining and seating areas for around 80 people, bedrooms to let and a private flat.
