The former Baileys Outfitters building in Exmouth will continued to be used as a shop after new tenants are found to take on the building.

It is not clear yet who will be taking over the property but the commercial property consultants handling the tenancy, Stratton Creber, have confirmed that new tenants have been found and it is their intention to use the property as a shop.

After 100 years of trading in the town Baileys Outfitters, 21 The Parade, closed its doors on Saturday, February 15, 2020.

The new owners will be expected to pay around £17,000 per annum to rent the property.

The news comes after a planning application was lodged last week to split the shop into two smaller business to make them more attractive to potential tenants.

This could mean the shop front will be split into two, requiring a two separate entrances.

A final decision on the planning application will be made by East Devon District Council.
