An Exmouth landlord is hoping to rekindle Exmouth's once great New Year's celebrations.

Spoken landlord George Nightingale is organising a New Year's Eve Party for the town which he hopes will herald, 'the rebirth of the town's celebrations that were once the envy of the country'.

Around 1,200 revellers will be able to ring in the New Year with style on the Strand, in the comfort of a large, weather-proof, marquee.

Spoken's George Nightingale said: "How about mixing things up a little and re-establishing Exmouth as one of the premier party destinations in the country again? Well that is the plan - do away with the house parties or going to Exeter, because Exmouth is back on the scene and we are providing a focal point to proceedings in The Strand, and don't worry we'll be paying a rent, that will cater for 1,200 of you.

"The party starts at 8pm in a bigger marquee than what has just come down from Oktoberfest. There will be a full bar, food, security and fancy dress will be expected with entertainment all night long - plus table service for all bottles.

"Those that attended Oktoberfest will testify to the atmosphere that can be created when we are all together for a purpose and with good will. In the words of Big Don - Let's make Exmouth great again."

Starting at 8pm there will be entertainment all evening from first class DJs to a band counting down to the New Year.

Wristbands will be issued to all those attending and doors close at 10pm. The marquee includes a smoking area, toilets, a cloakroom and food. There will also be table service for all bottle orders.
