Exmouth's new Tourist Information Service held an official launch party today (Wednesday, August 21) to celebrate the opening of its new premises in The Strand.

Based at AJ's Taxis just around the corner since May 2015, the Tourist Information Service has recently moved to dedicated premises at 45a The Strand, in the centre of town.

To celebrate the move, as well as the Visit Exmouth brand refresh, the Town Mayor, Councillor Steve Gazzard, presided over the official launch.

This included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in memory of former Mayor, Councillor Bill Nash, who was instrumental in Exmouth Town Council taking on responsibility for the Tourist Information Service back in 2014.

The Town Council, who supported and organised the move, attended the opening along with local business owners and organisations representing Exmouth's tourist industry.

The Tourist Information Service would particularly like to thank AJ's Taxis for their support in hosting the service over the last few years.

Manned by knowledgeable and friendly local volunteers, the new office is open six days a week, Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.

Veronica Boatman, Tourism Officer for Exmouth Town Council, said "I would like to express my gratitude to the amazing team of volunteers who donate their time to provide Exmouth with a Tourist Information Service we can all be proud of. It is because of this wonderful group of people that Exmouth has a sustainable tourist information service for the future".
