The Bicton Inn, Exmouth has been presented with two awards for its summer floral displays.

The Royal Horticultural Society - Britain in Bloom, South West presented the pub with its Neighbourhood Award and judged the Bicton's window boxes to be 'outstanding'.

Exmouth in Bloom awarded the Bicton the Gold Award in their Business Premises category. Both awards were presented to Landlady Alison Brockbank at an annual ceremony at Exmouth Rugby Club.

The colourful displays were the inspiration of Alison and gardening friend Sally-Ann Channing and were based on an environmental theme.

Planted with flowers which encourage bees, the window boxes were enhanced with models of bees, beehives, beekeepers and bee facts on miniature signposts.

Sally Anne planted and maintained the displays throughout the summer.
