Plans to demolish a complex of buildings on St Andrews Road in Exmouth and erect 34 new flats have been approved.

The complex of buildings includes The Bank pub, Number 9 Sports Bar, Sam's Funhouse (previously Samantha's Nightclub), and The Hive Youth Centre.

The apartments will be constructed on the first floor, with a new cafe/bar, restaurant and youth centre on the ground floor.

Thirty-five per cent of the one- to two-bedroom flats will be "affordable".

The site will have 27 parking spaces using existing access from Imperial Road.

Developers now have three years to begin work on the project, which is subject to several conditions.
