Police appeal after weekend assault in Exmouth town centre

Police investigating an assault in Exmouth town centre have issued an appeal for witnesses and information.

A local man in his 50s sustained a serious head injury - believed to have been caused by a glass bottle - after reportedly being 'attacked' by a group of men.

Emergency services were called out to an area between the Strand and St Andrews Road at around 11.30pm on Saturday 4 June.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment and was later discharged. A police cordon put in place near the area of the assault has since been lifted.

No arrests have yet been made.
