The police helicopter was out above Exmouth last night after reports of an assault in Phear Park.

But it seems no-one was injured in the incident.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called to Phear Park shortly after 8pm last night following reports that a man had been assaulted.

"It was reported that a man had been assaulted by a person with an unknown object but did not sustain any injuries.

"Officers including the police helicopter attended the area to carry out enquiries and spoke to a number of people.

"Enquiries remain ongoing."
