Police name Exmouth cyclist who died after Phear Park collision

Police have named a man who died after a collision near Phear Park in Exmouth.

At around 4.26pm on Saturday, April 20, South West Ambulance Service notified police of a road traffic collision that had occurred on the access lane into Phear Park, Exmouth.

The reported collision involved the rider of a pedal cycle. The road was closed for a period of time to allow for scene examination and investigation.

Following the incident, 77-year-old Robert Smith, from the Exmouth area, was flown to Derriford Hospital where he later passed away on Saturday, April 27, as a result of his injuries.

Police continue to investigate this incident and appeal for anyone with information and any witnesses to contact the police by calling 101, or via email at [email protected], quoting crime incident number: 771 200419.
