Police have warned locals to keep their bicycles secure with "good-quality locks" after several were stolen in burglaries in Exmouth this week.

The first incident was the burglary of a shop on Rolle Street, which saw expensive electric bikes stolen. It is believed to have taken place overnight between late evening on Wednesday (10 May) and early morning on Thursday (11 May).

The second incident was also a burglary, and saw a bicycle stolen from a shed at a property in Featherbed Lane. It is believed to have happened around the same time.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "There was a burglary and theft of high-value electric bicycles from a shop in Rolle Street, Exmouth town centre in the late evening to early morning of 10 and 11 May.

"There was also a burglary and consequent theft of a bicycle from a shed at a property in Featherbed Lane in Exmouth possibly around the same time.

"Residents are advised to keep cycles well secured with good-quality locks."

If you have any information that could help, contact police online or email [email protected] quoting reference number 50230138685 for the burglary at the shop, or 50230138718 for the burglary from the shed.
