Exe Fest raises £800 for Exmouth RNLI
The recent Exe Fest 2023, organised by Oliver Bainbridge and his team from Crossed Anchors Brewing and The Grapevine Brewhouse, has raised £800 for the local charity that saves lives at sea.
The popular free event, staged in Manor Gardens, Exmouth from 28 to 30 April provided an exciting weekend for the town, with an array of amazing bands, attractive food stalls, great family entertainment and fine locally brewed ales.
Oliver, who presented the cheque to Exmouth RNLI together with some samples of Crossed Anchors 'American Pale Ale' for the volunteers, said: "Having businesses in Exmouth for many years I am always conscious of just how vital our lifeboat station, its lifeboats and crew are to the town.
"I think it's important that local businesses promote our RNLI lifeboats and I'm grateful to all who helped me organise the Exe Fest and those who gave their support to make this donation possible."
Des White, Chair of the Exmouth RNLI Fundraising Team, received the cheque on behalf of the charity.
He said: "On behalf of all the volunteers here at Exmouth RNLI, I'd like to thank Oliver and his team for their efforts in creating a popular and enjoyable event for the town and raising so much for our charity. I must give a special thank you to all those who supported the event.
"And on a hot evening like this, I'm sure the American Pale Ale will be much appreciated by our lifesaving volunteers. All funds raised will go to essential training and equipment for the Exmouth Lifeboat crews to enable them to continue their vital lifesaving work."
