A well respected and long-serving Exmouth RNLI crew volunteer took on a exciting tasking recently when he got married last weekend.

Exmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat Helm, Henry Mock, tied a different knot when he got married to Romy Langley at Pratthayes Farm, Maer Lane, Exmouth at 1pm last Saturday 12 March 2022.

Henry, who has been a local RNLI lifesaver for over 10 years, joined Exmouth RNLI as a young crew member in 2011 and has served in various capacities from Head Launcher, Inshore Lifeboat Crew and, more recently, as a fully qualified and very capable Inshore Lifeboat Helm.

The happy couple were accompanied at the celebrations by groomsmen that included fellow Exmouth RNLI colleagues Andrew Stott, Roy Stott and Harry Griffin. The newlyweds visited the local lifeboat station following the ceremony as a mark of Henry's long service to the charity there.

Henry first met his wife through the RNLI when Romy was employed by the national lifesaving charity as an RNLI Events Organiser over five years ago when she attended the naming ceremony of the current Exmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat George Bearman II at the lifeboat station.

Henry said, "Our wedding day was certainly one to remember and, with the two of us having such strong connections with the RNLI and my father being a Lifeboat Crew Member/Coxswain here for 30 years, our visit to Exmouth Lifeboat Station was very meaningful and appropriate. We had a fantastic day."

Exmouth RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Ian Taylor, said "Henry is a very popular and experienced member of our volunteer RNLI crew here in Exmouth and I know Romy has done fantastic work for the charity. On behalf of all volunteers at Exmouth Lifeboat Station I'd like to wish them both all the very best wishes for their future life together."

Mr & Mrs Mock have yet to decide on where they will spend their honeymoon but Henry said, "It will be somewhere hot and, of course, by the sea!"
