A problematic area of grass on Exmouth seafront is currently to let by East Devon District Council for use as a fitness space.

The land was a temporary car park with around 50 spaces before work began in March last year to turn it into an area for outdoor fitness activities.

Use of the space was given to an Exmouth gym, but the operator ended its agreement early in September 2021 due to several problems and health and safety concerns with the area, including poor drainage.

To let

East Devon District Council is again looking for organisations or individuals who want to use the space for 'community-based fitness and leisure opportunities, as well as other well-being activities'.

The physical activities would ideally be aimed at children and young people, with 'a wide range of abilities and price points'.

It is now being offered for one or two seasons initially, starting in spring 2022 and ending in November each season.

Details have already been sent to LED Leisure and the Exmouth Beach Volleyball Club, who had earlier expressed interest in making the site a permanent beach volleyball court, potentially making Exmouth a 'regional centre' for the sport.

If you want to get in touch to lease the site, you have until 11.59pm on Sunday 6 March to email [email protected]. Alternatively you can book a viewing.
