Date: 26.03.2019Time: 07:44Location: M5 Northbound, J31 to J30Fire appliances from Middlemoor, Danes Castle and Topsham along with the heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor were sent to an RTC involving a van and a large goods vehicle. The driver of the van was severely trapped.

Crews got to work separating the two vehicles using a winch, to create space to access the casualty. Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment and worked alongside paramedics to rescue the casualty, who was then transferred to hospital via air ambulance. Crews made the scene safe and duty of care was left with the Police.
