In preparation for the summer season Exmouth Leisure Centre invited Exmouth Nub News to take a tour of the centre's facilities today (June 5) and is inviting the whole community to take part in its new Summer Shape Up program.

Membership sales advisor Stephanie Bund was kind enough to guide Exmouth Nub News editor Joe Bulmer around the centre, showing off its state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.

The centre, which now opens at 6.30am to cater for early exercisers, boasts five fitness studios, swimming pools and hosts more than 150 exercise classes ranging from aerobics to Zumba.

The LED run centre also offers parents a chance to exercise without worrying about what their children are up to, the centre's crèche is open on weekday mornings.

General manager Marcus Allen said: "We've made a lot of alterations over the past three to four years which has had a massive impact.

"We're proud to offer a fantastic range of group activities and classes. We've also now got a 'village style' changing room which is much larger and more accessible. For us it's all about removing barriers and making life easier for families using the centre. It's really brought our changing facilities into the 21st century.

"We're also updating our digital offering, the website has been improved, we're making better use of social media and making it easier for customers to book sessions online. Our main aim is to make the centre a real hub for the community."

Membership sales advisor Stephanie Bund said: "I don't think people realise how much Exmouth Leisure Centre has to offer our community with such a diverse range of activities for all ages.

"Everything from swimming, to gym, and group exercise along with health and wellness for seniors. Please feel free to book in to have a look around.

"We have a 25m main pool and a learner pool, a fantastic swim school starting with Adult and Child Swimming Lessons from 16 weeks up to Adult Swimming Lessons."

Regular Aqua classes such as Aquafit and AquaZumba are available too, along with in2Swimfit sessions that are perfect for improvers and those wanting tips and advice on how to improve their strokes.

At the moment Exmouth Leisure Centre is offering a new program designed specifically to get your body beach ready for summer.

The Summer Shape Up program, starting on June 17, is a 30 day online coaching program for LED members and non-members to help you get results with your summer body goals.

What is included in the plan:

-30 day online email coaching

-Goal setting and finding your "red hot why"

-Clean eating food plan

-Clean eating recipe book

-Shopping guide / meal planners

-Daily education

-Facebook group for members

-Home workouts (for LED non-members)

-One day free pass at LED (non-members)

-Group exercise and gym plans (LED members)

In April participants routinely lost 5 – 10lbs of body weight, increased their fitness and managed to stick to healthy eating and regular exercise much more than before.

If you are interested in this program, please go to www.ledshapeup.co.uk and register. There are only 100 places left so book today so you don't miss out.

Any questions about the program please email Daniel Cudmore, the program lead, at [email protected].
