The new Plumb Park development in Exmouth is the result of a joint venture between house builders Taylor Wimpey and local landowner Clinton Devon Estates.

The partnership project is formed around a hilltop park, known locally as Donkey Hill.

According to a spokesperson at Taylor Wimpey: "The new community with its tree-lined streets and Arts and Crafts inspired homes has been designed to complement the much admired adjacent neighbourhood known as The Avenues.

"The scheme will also include orchards and allotments for local people with pedestrian and cycle links connecting the development to the bustling seaside town of Exmouth, the nearby Liverton Business Park and also the stunning East Devon coast with its golden beaches and fantastic footpaths."

Construction work at Plumb Park began in 2017 with the first homeowners moving in a year later.

"The masterplan for the development was designed by John Baulch, from Exeter studio LHC Design to mirror The Avenues, ensuring a harmony with the very best examples of Exmouth's architecture," continued the spokesperson.

"House designs are inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement which

flourished in Europe in the late 1800's and early 1900's, and which contributed to the architecture of both Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton."

Ian Pugsley, Technical Director for Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: "We knew that the architectural heritage and connection to family history in this part of east Devon was extremely important to Clinton Devon Estates and Lord Clinton himself.

Leigh Rix, Head of Property and Land at Clinton Devon Estates said: "This is the realisation of a vision to create an inspirational place for people to enjoy their homes and surroundings, as well as a rich ecological habitat for nature and wildlife to thrive.

"In time, the orchards and allotments that have been designated within the development will also increase the ways in which residents can enjoy the outdoors.

"We are excited to watch Plumb Park grow as a community and become the latest part of Exmouth's architectural heritage."

Plumb Park is located in Buckingham Close in Exmouth.

The sales centre is open for appointments only, 11am to 5.30pm seven days a week, with social distancing measures in place for

the safety of staff and customers.
