A local youth theatre group is currently rehearsing for a show it will perform this summer.

Exmouth Youth Theatre, formerly known as Blackmore Youth Theatre, will be performing 'We Will Rock You young@part' from 18 to 22 July at the Exmouth Pavilion.

It has 40 members aged from eight to 18, and it became an independent youth theatre charity in September 2020.

The theatre company's most recent production was Roald Dahl's 'Matilda the Musical Jr.' at Matthew's Hall, Topsham in December 2021.

This version of We Will Rock You has been adapted for a younger audience, and features many of Queen's best-loved songs including We Are The Champions, Killer Queen, Radio Ga Ga, Somebody to Love and more.

Director and Choreographer Tracey Hamilton said: "Performing We Will Rock You young@part at Exmouth Pavilion is a hugely important step for our young cast members.

"It's been an extremely challenging few years for them and we're really proud of their resilience."

Tickets are on sale now on the Exmouth Pavilion website.
