A flood warning has been issued for the East Devon coast between Exmouth and Seaton.

The Government's flood information service says flooding is expected during high tide on Wednesday morning (December 16).

High water at Exmouth is at 7.45am

Gale force 7 southerly winds and offshore wave heights of 2.7metres are forecast to cause flooding to vulnerable properties at high tide, and conditions may apply two hours either side of it.

Take care on coastal roads and walkways

The weather conditions are expected to create tides around 570mm higher than predicted. Large waves and spray are likely, so people are advised to take extra care on or near coastal paths and promenades.

There may be standing water on coastal roads and motorists should not drive through it.

The conditions should ease for the afternoon's high tide but the Government flood warning service will be monitoring the situation and will issue updates if the situation changes.
