Supporters of Exmouth RNLI over many years, Tiverton Golf Club has, once again, raised an amazing £3,355.96 to support the volunteers locally.

Dave Turner, the Veterans Captain for 2022, selected Exmouth RNLI as his nominated charity for the year and said: "Our Club is always very pleased to support the RNLI and its volunteers at Exmouth.

"We are conscious of the hard work that they all put in to support the charity itself and their day to day voluntary commitment in saving lives at sea. I am happy that we raised such a substantial donation and thank all those who helped and contributed."

Tiverton Golf Club were joined at their main event, Captains Day in May 2022, by Exmouth RNLI Fundraising Team Chair, Des White, and Deputy Fundraising Team Chair, Rob Anderson. The main event raised £2805.96 with Tiverton Golf Club members making additional donations of £550.

Last week Dave Turner and Chairman of Tiverton Golf Club Greens Committee, Dave Hussey, visited Exmouth Lifeboat Station where they were given a tour of the facilities. In recognition of his and the efforts of Tiverton Golf Club, Dave Turner was presented with an RNLI Certificate of Recognition signed by the charity's Chief Executive, Mark Dowie.

On behalf of Exmouth RNLI, Des White said: "We are very grateful to Tiverton Golf Club for their continued efforts in support of Exmouth RNLI. £3,355 is an amazing amount to have raised over 2022 and this significant donation will be put to good use for essential training and equipment for the volunteer Exmouth Lifeboat crews here."
