Two left with serious injuries after Exmouth assault
Police have issued a witness appeal after an assault in Exmouth left two people with serious injuries and needing hospital treatment.
Officers said the incident happened outside the Exmouth Kebab House on Rolle Street next to the Scott Cinema between 1.30am and 2.30am on Monday 29 May.
A male and a female were reportedly assaulted by a group of up to five people of both sexes. The female victim was then followed by two females along Rolle Street and assaulted again by a bus stop.
It is believed a number of people saw what happened.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police investigating a report of assault in Exmouth on Monday 29 May are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
"A serious assault occurred outside the Exmouth Kebab House on Rolle Street, Exmouth, adjacent to the Scott Cinema between 1.30am and 2.30am, it has been reported that a male and female were assaulted by a group of up to five persons, both male and female, receiving serious injuries requiring hospital treatment.
"The female victim was then followed by the two females along Rolle Street and further assaulted by a bus stop.
"It is believed that there were a number of witnesses. We understand that this was some time ago."
