Vehicle Fire at A3052 near Aylesbeare

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received multiple calls reporting a road traffic collision with a single vehicle which caught fire.
Fire control immediately mobilised one fire appliance from Middlemoor to attend this incident.
On arrival the officer in charge confirmed vehicle well alight and request another fire appliance for water and personnel and a ambulance for two casualties. All persons were free and clear from the vehicle but suffering from injuries.
Fire control immediately mobilised Sidmouth fire appliance to assist at this incident. Ambulance confirmed they were on route.
Police were informed and arrived on scene to assist the crews.
The officer in charge confirmed one vehicle had been involved in a collision and had ended up on it roof and caught fire. The crews got to work with two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and rendered first aid using the trauma pack and oxygen therapy on the two casualties involved in the collision.
Both casualties were transported to hospital via land ambulance. The crews successfully extinguished the vehicle and made the vehicle safe.
