A virtual 'Christingle' event is being held at an Exmouth church on Christmas Eve.

Christmas will be very different at St John in the Wilderness this year.

Due to coronavirus restrictions it won't be able to hold the normal Christmas services, which is normally attended by up to 1,000 people.

This unfortunately includes the three Christingle services usually held on Christmas Eve, which for many people in Exmouth and beyond mark the beginning of their family Christmas.

The virtual Christingle event instead be held at 4pm on December 24 which you can join in with on Facebook, YouTube, or the church's website.

There will be the traditional carols, and a downloadable service sheet which will be available nearer the time.

Residents are being encouraged to make their own Christingle, to light during the broadcast service. You can find out how HERE.

Visit the St John in the Wilderness Facebook page HERE.
