The team at A la Ronde near Exmouth would love to hear from you if you have some time to spare and are interested in finding out more about volunteer opportunities.

We are looking for people to join us and help everyone who visits us have a great experience. Whether you prefer to be indoors or outdoors, we have a role in which you can share stories of this special place.

With over 150 volunteers in the visitor welcome, the second-hand book shop, house and helping behind-the-scenes in conservation, it takes a lot of work to keep this 16-sided house open to the public.

Karen Kelly, Volunteering & Community Officer explains: "Our volunteer team are simply fabulous. There are so many different roles they turn their hand to, from sorting and pricing second-hand books, welcoming visitors when they arrive, to leading estate tours and sharing stories in the house.

"We're looking for more people to come and help look after this special place so if you would like to find out about joining the team we'd love to see you.

"We are inviting people to come and find out what's involved on Sunday 8 and Thursday 12 May. Taster sessions are available for all roles. You can call or email us to book a place at 11:00, 12:30 or 2:00pm."

About A la Ronde: A la Ronde is a sixteen-sided building full of creative treasures from around the world. This hexadecagonal building was the work of cousins Jane and Mary Parminter in 1796. See the fantastic shell and feather designs throughout the house, find out about the creative design and ask about the one and only male owner. With the 360' touchscreen virtual tour every visitor can get up close to the Shell Gallery and view the extraordinary decoration. The property enjoys fabulous views and setting, and there is a wealth of stories to share about what was once a much larger estate.
