A drop-in service for second Covid jabs is being tried out today (Wednesday, June 16) at the Greendale Vaccination Centre on the A3052 Exeter to Sidmouth road.
People in certain categories can turn up without an appointment to get their jab – but may have to wait outside if the centre is very busy.
The centre is open until 4pm and the invitation is open to people who:
- Are aged 40 or over, clinically vulnerable or extremely clinically vulnerable
- Received their first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine on or before 21st April
- Have yet to make an appointment for the second dose, or missed their original appointment
The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Hospitals Trust, which is organising the vaccination service, is advising people to check its social media for further information in case the centre needs to close early because of high demand.
People are being advised to dress appropiately for the warm weather, and bring a bottle of water.
This offer is for second doses only. Anyone who needs to book a first vaccine appointment should visit [L]https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/[L+]the NHS website[L].
