Weather warning for wind and rain issued for Exmouth area

The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for wind and rain for Friday.

Coastal areas, such as Exmouth, are being told to prepare for flooding and severe disruption to road users.

Here is what to expect, according to the Met Office

-Flooding of a few homes and businesses in urbanised areas is likely.

-Spray and flooding on roads will make for dangerous driving conditions resulting in longer journey times..

-It's likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves.

-Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely.

-Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.

Tonight scattered showers are expected across the area, turning thundery in coastal area. Temperatures could drop to as low as 6C.

Thursday will see further scattered showers across the region. Those showers may turn heavy in some areas with a risk of hail and thunder. Thursday's maximum temperature will be around 15C.
