When will phase two of Exmouth's new skatepark commence'

OPINION - Many will have seen the great start to Exmouth's new skate park project at the end of 2018, but when will phase two commence? It seems that nobody knows, which is something that the park users of Exmouth really want addressed.
Exmouth, being Devon's biggest town, has a large amount of youth participation in roller sports and should really have the same opportunity to develop their skills as others around the UK. Being that skateboarding is now an Olympic sport, it is more important than ever that this project is finished in our town.
Exmouth is home to many former Olympians, so there is no reason to think that a future skateboarding champion could not be from our town - we have many very talented users.
During the course of 2019, Budleigh Salterton should be receiving its new skate park, budgeted for the same amount as Exmouth's phase one cost. That's great for the village and will suit the amount of space available, it will be interesting to see what they can fit into a relatively small amount of space.
Moving forward, however, many skate park users are concerned that no mention of a start date for Exmouth's phase two has been confirmed. This is a big problem, as phase one consists of the more beginner focused obstacles and at the moment leaves nothing to progress on to as ability increases; or for those already at a higher level of their chosen park sports, like BMX and scooters.
Skate parks also bring tourism, Cornwall is a good example of this, with some of the best parks in the country attracting skaters from around the world and already producing champions of the sport.
The users of Exmouth skate park are eagerly awaiting confirmation of a start date for phase two of the project. We hope our council will respond to our concerns as soon as possible, and answer this question for all of the town's park users.

A spokesperson for East Devon District Council said: "East Devon District Council is really pleased with how well the new facility has been received by the local community.
"We share the desire to see the wider plan for the site to be implemented and continue to expand the facilities for young people there.
"The key to expanding the skatepark will be finding further funding to pay for it and East Devon is continuing to explore various sources for this. We anticipate that we will have a further update on funding for an expanded facility in the Summer."
