Wildlife organisations from across East Devon take part in a Wild Day on the Maer
Council's Countryside team organises fun filled wildlife related activities and crafts day for all the family at the Maer nature reserve in Exmouth
On Monday 6 August 2018, East Devon District Council's Countryside team has teamed up with a number of wildlife organisations to hold a fun-filled family day at the Maer Local Nature Reserve. From 10.30am to 3.30pm, there will be plenty of activities to take part in such as bug hunting, a scavenger hunt and natural crafts. Plus you can find out more about wildlife and the countryside from the RSPB, Devon Loves Dogs and the Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust who will all have stalls at the event. East Devon District Council's Environment portfolio holder, Cllr Tom Wright, said:There are many opportunities to get outdoors in East Devon and this event is a chance to explore one of Exmouth's most popular green spaces while having a go at some natural crafts and wildlife activities. Discover other places to visit this summer including the Jurassic Coast, Pebblebed Heaths and the ten nature reserves managed by East Devon District Council.
Countryside Team Leader Tim Dafforn said:
Exmouth is such a vibrant place with some amazing and beautiful green spaces in and around the town. Discover nature on your doorstep and meet the organisations keen to promote the outdoors and wildlife this summer. Why not bring a picnic and enjoy all that the Maer and Exmouth has to offer?
A voluntary donation of £4 per child will help to cover craft materials and activities. Public pay and display parking is available nearby.
