Witnesses wanted after 77-year-old cyclist left with life threatening injuries
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 77-year-old cyclist was left with 'life-threatening injuries' following a collision with a car in Exmouth.
At around 4.26pm on Saturday, April 20, South West Ambulance Service notified police of a road traffic collision that had occurred on the access lane into Phear Park, Exmouth.
The reported collision involved the rider of a bicycle. The road was closed for a period of time to allow for scene examination and investigation.
As a result of the incident, a 77-year-old man was flown to Derriford Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The incident involved a Rayleigh 'Solitaire' bicycle which had been travelling downhill toward the main entry/exit gates leading onto the main road.
The Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigations team are appealing for witnesses, who may be able to add some information to this investigation, to come forward, quoting log number 0711 of 20/04/19.
Police are particularly keen to hear from the driver and/or occupants of a white-coloured Peugeot convertible seen at the location, who may provide vital evidence as to what took place.
