Your guide to the Platinum Jubilee in Exmouth
Exmouth is set to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee this week with a variety of special events, street parties and more.
The Platinum Jubilee, which marks 70 years since the accession of Queen Elizabeth II to the throne, will be celebrated over four days from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June. Thursday and Friday are bank holidays.
Here's our rundown of what's on in Exmouth over the long weekend:
Thursday 2 June
NCI Exmouth Platinum Jubilee Event (12pm to 6pm, Coastwatch House, Esplanade)
- Meet the watchkeepers, water safety advice, children's activities.
Exmouth Festival (From 4pm (last performance 9pm), Imperial Recreation Ground, family-friendly, free to enter)
- Featuring fairground, local traders, entertainers, bar tent, family science installation 'Soundscapes and Seascapes'.
- Live music featuring local bands, eg. The Barefoot Bandit.
The Queen's Jubilee Celebration with AJ's Big Band (7.30pm, Exmouth Pavilion, £17)
- 40's or jubilee style dress code, cabaret evening with tables, tickets still available.
Book launch 'Painting East Devon's Jurassic Coast' (8pm, Ocean, free)
- Local artist Angie Seaway will be launching her new book 'Painting East Devon's Jurassic Coast'.
- Book signings, juggling, live music and exhibition of the paintings available.
The Jubilee beacon-lighting (9.45pm, 'Geoneedle' at Orcombe Point)
- At 2pm, the Town Crier will announce a specially written proclamation.
- At 9.35pm, a local piper will play a tune written for the occasion. The beacons will then be lit at 9.45pm at Orcombe Point.
Friday 3 June
Exmouth Festival (From 12pm (last performance 9pm), Imperial Recreation Ground, family-friendly, free to enter)
- Featuring fairground, local traders, entertainers, bar tent, family science installation 'Soundscapes and Seascapes'.
- Live performances from local bands, groups, eg. RA Dance Fitness, La La Choir.
- Big Top with circus 12pm-3pm. Circus skill workshops including hula hooping, balancing, juggling, plate spinning. 4pm family cabaret show.
Saturday 4 June
Walks, talks around Littleham Church's churchyard (10am to 4pm)
- Walks, talks around historic churchyard, refreshments on offer.
Exmouth Festival (From 12pm (last performance 9pm), Imperial Recreation Ground, family-friendly, free to enter)
- Featuring fairground, local traders, entertainers, bar tent, family science installation 'Soundscapes and Seascapes'.
- Live performances from bands, groups, eg. Cadence Road, The Lost Sound, Musical Youth.
- Big Top with circus 12pm-3pm. Circus skill workshops including hula hooping, balancing, juggling, plate spinning. 4pm family cabaret show.
Exmouth Stroke Survivors Club party (12pm, Bidmead Community Centre, £10)
- Music, tea, party games and big jubilee lunch.

Sunday 5 June
Littleham Church jubilee service (10am)
- Service of thanksgiving for Her Majesty the Queen.
Exmouth Festival (From 12pm (last performance 4pm), Imperial Recreation Ground, family-friendly, free to enter)
- Featuring fairground, local traders, entertainers, bar tent, family science installation 'Soundscapes and Seascapes'.
- Live performances from bands, groups, eg. Exmouth Acapella, Exmouth Youth Theatre, South West Lindy Hoppers, All Jazzed Up.
- **1pm The Big Jubilee Lunch, bring a picnic blanket and buy or bring own food. Music from SW Comms Band**.
- Big Top with circus 12pm-3pm. Circus skill workshops including hula hooping, balancing, juggling, plate spinning.
- Theatre show 'The Grimm Sisters' by Scratchworks Theatre (BSL Interpreted) from 4pm.
- Create 'Exmouth's Greatest Masterpiece' with community artist Hayley Watson.
