Last Saturday (20 November), the club hosted its first sporting lunch of the season to raise funds for our Vision 24 campaign to improve the facilities and rebuild the changing rooms at Raleigh Park.

The lunch got underway with a welcome by Chairman, Merv Richards who also awarded 1st XV sponsors, The Worx with a playing shirt as a thank you for their support. Merv then handed over to Sara Palmer from the Vision 24 committee to introduce the campaign to the lunch guests.

The Withies went into Saturday's game looking to right some wrongs from last week as they welcomed Saltash to Raleigh Park. With both sides still looking for their first win of the season, both sets of supporters could expect a great game of rugby.

The opening exchanges of the game went the way of the visiting side, with one or two early penalties allowing them to gain distance up the field and into a position for fly half Kieron Down to put Saltash ahead with a penalty kick on 7min.

The weekend approaches once again, meaning that it's time to prepare to welcome Saltash to Raleigh Park for round 4 of the Tribute Cornwall/Devon league.

The Withies go into tomorrow's game sitting 10th in the league after last weekend's difficult game away at Cullompton. In a game where nothing seemed to 'stick', possession and solid attacking opportunities were hard to come by; plus losing a couple of key players to injury once again would not have helped efforts at Stafford Park.
