Almighty God, we offer our thanks and praise for all who have died that we might live, for all who endured pain that we might know joy, for all who suffered captivity that we might know freedom, for all who knew austerity that we might know plenty. Grant us strength to fulfil the promises we have made, that the values for which they served and died might be the values by which we live; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
