EMCo are busy in the final month of rehearsals for their forthcoming production of 'Footloose' at the Exmouth Pavilion Theatre which is taking place between the 7th and 10th June. The talented local cast have been perfecting their dance moves and are looking forward to an energetic and upbeat show that will appeal to all ages. 

Everyone will be welcome to a special Saturday matinee which will be a "relaxed performance", with more subdued lighting and sound to ensure that everyone in the community can feel able to come and experience the show's 'feel good' factor.

Footloose is a 1998 musical based on the 1984 film of the same name. It's the story of Ren McCormack, a teenage boy from Chicago. He moves to the small town of Bomont with his mother after his father abandons him. Ren immediately finds himself at odds with most of the town's population including the local preacher, Reverend Shaw who, to Ren's horror, has outlawed dancing in the town. With the help of the Ariel (the Reverend's daughter) and Willard (a country hick who becomes his best friend), Ren convinces the Reverend to let the teenagers dance and in the process heals the town from a tragedy that has affected them all.

With such iconic songs as 'Holding Out for a Hero', 'Let's Hear it for the Boy' and the title track 'Footloose', this energetic musical is not to be missed.
