UPDATE: 78-year-old man left with 'life changing injuries' after Knowle Hill crash

Police are appealing for witnesses and a 78 year-old cyclist is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash between Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton yesterday.

At around 12.54pm on Thursday, July 30, a collision took place on Knowle Hill, Budleigh Salterton, Devon between a Silver Audi TT and a pedal cycle.

A police spokesperson said: "As a result of the collision the pedal cyclist, a 78 year old male from the Topsham area, suffered serious life changing injuries. He was taken to The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital via land ambulance.

"The driver of the Audi TT a 65 year old female also from the Exeter area was un-injured.

"Local officers as well as officers from the Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team attended and a forensic examination was conducted of the scene."

Once a proportionate examination of the scene was conducted the roads was re-opened. Officers are anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them by calling 101 quoting log number 419 of July 30, 2020.
