Exmouth RNLI volunteers helped search for a missing diver off the Dorset coast on Monday (28 August).

At 1.18pm, HM Coastguard tasked Exmouth RNLI's all-weather lifeboat crew to assist in the search in the Portland area.

The volunteers launched at 1.39pm and the lifeboat was on scene about an hour later.

They were stood down after the body of the diver, a man in his 40s from Hampshire, was recovered at around 3.40pm.

His next of kin have been informed, Dorset Police said.
