A chimney fire, involving a log burner, broke out at a home in Woodbury last night (Sunday, November 15).

A fire engine from Middlemoor attended a property in Globe Hill at about 6.45pm after a call from the occupant.

On arrival the crews confirmed there was a fire involving the woodburning stove and got to work with chimney gear and a carbon monoxide monitor.

At about 7.15pm Middlemoor requested a second engine attend, which came from Exmouth.

Crews continued fighting the fire from the roof using chimney rods and the woodburner was removed.

Crews used one hose reel jet, a triple extension ladder, roof ladder, safety at heights equipment and a thermal imaging camera.

Fire crews were happy the fire was out and left the scene just after 7.50pm.
