Community CAREGiver Talia raises in excess of £400 for The Little Princess Trust, by having 15 inches of hair cut off to raise money for children suffering from cancer and other illnesses that cause hair loss.

Talia Dutton-Cohen, a CAREGiver at Home Instead Senior Care and retail worker at Rivermead Store and Post Office has managed to raise a magnificent sum, in excess of £400, by having her locks cut.

The money and hair donation are for The Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs to children and young people suffering from cancer and other illnesses that cause hair loss.

Talia took the decision to have the 'big' cut to raise vital funds for the charity and to donate her hair as she was aware that the cost of producing a wig for a child or young person is around £200-£300.

The Little Princess Trust has a trusted network of salons across the United Kingdom and Ireland providing a professional and compassionate service.

Hair donations need to be a minimum of seven inches but in keeping with fashion trends the demand for longer wigs is higher. As a consequence the charity is challenging supporters to let their hair grow to even longer lengths, hoping that donors will provide wigs over twelve inches long.

Commenting on her fundraising efforts and 'big' cut which took place on 24 August, Talia said: "I originally grew my hair out for my wedding which was three years ago. I wanted my hair short again and decided to donate it to The Little Princess Trust.

"I heard about the amazing work they did and thought that it would be nice to try and raise some money to go with my hair. I have been blown away by the generosity of the customers at Rivermead stores, my other colleagues at Home Instead and my family.

"Together we have raised enough to cover the cost of a wig for a child and some extra to go to another. Thank you, it has been amazing!"
