Exmouth youngsters have planted trees and designed a mosaic bench in Phear Park to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III.

The Exmouth Town Council project saw 10 trees, one for each school in the town, planted in April in a semi-circle shape to form a copse.

Mosaic panels for the bench were designed and made by young people at Space Youth Services' The Hive Youth Centre with the help of artists Allan Punton and Manya McMahon.

Mayor of Exmouth Olly Davey said: "We're very excited to have helped the young people plant these trees and make the beautiful mosaic panels which will be a reminder for many years to come.

"We are grateful to EDDC for allowing us to create this wonderful legacy in Phear Park."

Deputy Mayor of Exmouth Joe Whibley added: "It was great to see so many young people of Exmouth involved.

"The young people from Space's youth groups worked hard, with the help of Allan and Manya to create the mosaic panels.

"Thanks go to Mark Gerry, a youth leader for Space, for his help to enable the young people to take part in this fabulous project. We welcome opportunities to work with community groups on similar projects so get in touch to discuss how we can help."
