At around 6.45am this morning (May 3) emergency services were called to a blaze at the allotments on Hamilton Lane.

Severe damage has been caused to property and the fire is being treated as an arson attack, with sheds also having been broken into.

A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Fire and Rescue said: "Two fire appliances from Exmouth have dealt with two sheds that had been deliberately set on fire on some allotments at Hamilton Lane.

"Other sheds had been damaged and broken into so the police were requested to attend.

"Crews were quickly on scene and extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet.

"The sheds involved were completely destroyed.

"Duty of care has been left with the Police."
