A determined member of the Exmouth Gateway Club is beating the lockdown blues by setting herself a series of ambitious 2.6 Challenges in 26 days.

35-year-old, Angela Edworthy, has so-far raised an impressive £1,200 for the charity group; a target that means carer, Ricky Woodward, will have to shave his head.

"The hair is going!" he exclaimed in a post on social media: "Angela made £1,200 at last count! Amazing!"

And she's not stopping there.

The next goal is to get to £1,500, which will see Ricky endure a leg wax - donations can be made here.

Club Secretary, Paul Baldwin told Nub News: "Obviously, since the middle of March we haven't been able to hold our weekly Monday evening sessions, or do all the things we used to to as a group - like zoo trips, the theatre and play football.

"It's been really tough for everyone and Angela especially was getting quite down about the situation and not being able to go out and socialise.

"As soon as the 2.6 Challenge started though she's completely embraced it and has been coming up with all the ideas for her challenges herself - including throwing two boxes of six eggs at her carer, which was a stroke of genius.

"It's been fantastic seeing the improvement in her mood and great fun for all of us."

Not only are the 2.6 Challenges, along with the tuck shop enterprise, vital for keeping the club active and boosting morale; the money raised is fundamental to the club's future.

The organisation, which was founded in 1989, is run entirely by a group of dedicated volunteers and relies solely on donations and fundraising to continue operating.

As a charity, trying to keep their heads above water during this difficult time, they need your help!
