Members of the public can now apply to Devon County Council for free street party licences to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and The Queen Consort.

The coronation will take place on the morning of Saturday 6 May. Applications can be made for Saturday 6, Sunday 7 or Monday 8 May.

Cllr Stuart Hughes (Conservative, Sidmouth) said: "The coronation of a new monarch is a once-in-a-generation event and we want communities to get together across Devon to celebrate.

"Street parties are very much part of our national identity and have been for more than 100 years, and we want communities to come together, celebrate with family and neighbours, make new friends, and have fun."

To apply to close off your street for a street party, apply to Devon County Council online here by Sunday 26 March (NB. This form is for minor residential roads and cul-de-sacs only and they will be considered on an individual basis).
