A patient group has presented Haldon House Surgery in Exmouth with a Doppler machine.

Haldon House Surgery Patient Group was able to purchase the machine, which uses high-frequency sound waves to for example detect blood flow, with money raised in its annual Christmas draw.

It has been running such draws for 12 years so far, with a total of over £12.5k raised to buy medical equipment.

The group's chairman David Bassett presented the machine to Practice Nurse Britt Kitson.

Ms Kitson said: "We are always very grateful for the support of the patients and staff in helping us raise funds to enhance the services provided by the surgery.

"We have seen the positive impact on patients from the equipment we have donated."
