The owner of local cycling shop Exmouth Cycles has raised over £1.3k for charity by running the London Marathon.

Andy Grist took on the 26-mile challenge for Get Kids Going, a charity that gives disabled children and young people opportunities to take part in sport.

He completed the marathon on Sunday 2 October with a time of three hours and 31 minutes.

Girlfriend of Mr Grist Sarah Greenacre said: "It was the first marathon for everyone since Covid and was a wonderful day full of positivity and achievement.

"Andy ran along side thousands of participants, including elite runners, a Christmas tree, and all were cheered on by various groups along the route which took them all around London.

"Sporting events are always a great thing to bring people together and the London Marathon does it in style with so much happiness and solidarity and with thousands of pounds being raised for so many charities too."

Andy's initial fundraising target was £900, but he has raised a greater total £1,390 on JustGiving at the time of writing.

You can still donate on his JustGiving page here until the end of October.
