Exmouth family celebrates Platinum Jubilee in style thanks to Co-op prize
An Exmouth family is celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in style thanks to a one-off gift from the Co-op.
Local resident Rebecca Rees received a box packed with jubilee-themed items including mini flags, crowns, bunting, and more to mark Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's 70 years on the throne.
She won the box for her family as a prize in a one-off Nub News and Co-op competition last month.
Rebecca, her husband, and two sons Elliott and Samuel headed up to London on Thursday for the Trooping of the Colour.
She said: "Samuel, the youngest, he's very excited. I think he thinks he's actually going to meet the Queen!"
The boys also created some unique artwork on the Rees' driveway with chalk provided in the Co-op box.
Rebecca and family are now going to enjoy a party at home with friends - and join in the Exmouth Festival on the Imperial Recreation Ground.
She added: "I grew up down here, and we only moved back in the first week of the first lockdown.
"This is the first year we've seen all the things that Exmouth's got to offer!"
