Exmouth firefighters were called to a domestic fire at a property on Stevenstone Road at 7.37pm yesterday evening (February 20).

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service issued this statement: "We received a call reporting a fire at a property in Exmouth.

"Fire control immediately mobilised two fire appliances from Exmouth and a duty officer to attend this incident.

"On arrival the incident commander confirmed a fire confined to the cooker involving cooking debris.

"Crews got to work ventilating the property using one positive pressure ventilation fan and a thermal imaging camera to investigate and fire spread and hot spots.

"The incident was then handed over to the occupier."
