A fresh planning application to demolish the existing Devoncourt Resort & Apartments building and construct new flats and a new hotel has been submitted to East Devon District Council.

It comes a year after another application to demolish the timeshare resort was submitted. (It was later withdrawn in December after more than 90 objections).

If the plans are approved, 77 residential apartments (of which 25% are marked "affordable') and a new 62-bed hotel would be built. The hotel would have access via the Maer Road car park.

The application is currently awaiting a decision from the district council.
