The leader of Exmouth Gateway Club, Emma Baldwin, is taking part in a virtual walk covering the same distance as Land's End to John o'Groats, alongside another virtual Route 66 walk.

The Exmouth Gateway club is a social group for adults with learning disabilities.

Founded in 1989, the club has over 120 members who have a wide range of disabilities.

The club allows its members to develop social skills and gives them an opportunity to socialise.

Emma said: "The last 9 months have been very unusual for us all but especially for the members.

"Suddenly the club they love had to stop; they couldn't play football, meet their mates, or go on holiday and do all the things they love to do.

"We have currently no income but still have outgoings.

"I want to ensure that when this awful COVID situation is over we can have some much needed fun.

"I know times are challenging for many of us financially at the moment but if you could possibly spare some money to sponsor me then I and all the members would be very grateful."

Emma has already walked 485 miles on one of the challenges, and 353 on the other. She intends to finish well before the deadline.

So far, she has raised £510 for the club, with a target of £1,000.
