The winner of a giant 7.5kg chocolate egg in a charity raffle has donated it to a children's ward at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

Martin Harvey won it as first prize in the raffle, which was run by Exmouth deli The Italian Store on the Strand.

Second prize went to Imogen Rose, who won a 1kg milk chocolate egg, and third prize to Keith Darch, who won a selection box of small chocolate eggs.

A total of £605 was raised for local non-profit Exmouth Friends in Need, which helps prevent and alleviate poverty for local families.

Owner of The Italian Store Abas Muhedeen said: "A massive thank you to everyone who participated in our raffle.

"Raising money is something that we've always done in the past, and will continue to do.

"Doing something for a local charity active physically and helping locals in need, it feels amazing."

Bramble Children and Young People's Unit at the RD&E specialises in caring for babies, children and young people up to 18 years of age.
