More than six weeks of works on gas pipes in the Salterton Road area of Exmouth are set to begin on Monday 14 February.

It will be carried out by energy company Wales and West Utilities, and is expected to be complete by 1 April 'barring any unforeseen engineering difficulties'.

Traffic lights will be used on Salterton Road for the duration.

Wales & West Utilities spokesperson Jake Sami, who is managing this gas pipe upgrade work, said: "This work is essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play our part in a green future.

"We will work as safely and as quickly as possible to finish the work, whilst keeping inconvenience to a minimum for local people and road users."

The company is inviting locals to get in touch if they have questions on 0800 912 2999, social media or at [email protected].
